Instagram users finally have the option to pin three posts to the top of their profile. The novelty was introduced with the aim of giving users more control in using the application and more creativity in shaping the appearance of their profile. In the rest of the article, we will explain how you can do this in a few clicks and improve communication.

 

HOW TO “PIN” A POST TO THE TOP OF THE PROFILE?

 

After logging in to your Instagram profile, select the photo or Reel from your profile that you want to pin to the top of your profile. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post, then click “pin to your profile”. Update your profile to check if the selected image is in the first row of your profile. You should also see a pin icon in the top right corner of the image. You can repeat the process with two more photos or Reels. The last pinned post will be shown as the first, i.e. on the far left in the first row of your profile.

If you want to replace one of the pinned posts, repeat the described procedure with a new post, but the post you pinned first will be removed from the top of your profile. If you want to remove one of the posts pinned to the top, click on that post on the three dots in the right corner and select the “unpin from profile” option.

 

HOW CAN GRID PINNING HELP WITH COMMUNICATION?

 

The option to pin posts on Instagram is useful not only for the appearance of the profile, but also for highlighting what is currently in focus. Pinning a post to the top of your profile is ideal for a new campaign, so it’s the first thing followers and other users see when they open your profile. If you want to promote a new or best-selling product or spread the word about a new event, then you can pin the post to the top of your profile. This will contribute to more views, shares, saves, likes and user comments on your posts, potentially resulting in more product sales.

In case you want to promote a short-term offer or discount, for example a skin care product or a piece of clothing, the best way to make it visible is to pin the post to your profile.

If you collaborate with content creators, this way they too can temporarily highlight a product that is part of a paid partnership with your brand. Also, to give potential customers more information about the products you sell or advertise, you can pin a photo or Reel with comments and testimonials from customers who have already tried the products.
