{"id":679,"date":"2021-05-25T09:22:49","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T09:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dialog-komunikacije.hr\/en\/?p=679"},"modified":"2021-05-25T10:24:22","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T10:24:22","slug":"we-took-part-in-the-sljeme-clean-up-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dialog-komunikacije.hr\/en\/we-took-part-in-the-sljeme-clean-up-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"We took part in the Sljeme cleaning-up action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to reduce waste quantities, educate people about its proper disposal and raise environmental awareness, on Saturday, May 22, the THE GREEN HUB platform organized a clean-up action called <em>Let\u2019s clean-up Sljeme!<\/em>, thus celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity and the Nature Conservation Day.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty volunteers, mostly employees of the companies Oda\u0161ilja\u010di i veze and Raiffaisenbank Hrvatska, were in the best of moods while cleaning the top of the Medvednica mountain, and they ended up collecting more than 800 kg of various waste, while we provided them with communication, logistical and advisory support.<\/p>\n<p>Tihana Velja\u010di\u0107, co-founder of THE GREEN HUB platform and initiator of the Ditch Plastic Croatia initiative, made the following statement: &#8220;We are proud of the fact that our first Sljeme clean-up campaign was extremely successful, but also appalled by the amount of waste that people leave in the Medvednica Nature Park. This is only the first in a series of campaigns we plan to organize, but a significant improvement of the state of our nature parks requires a change in awareness of the impact of waste on nature, which we all need to work on harder.
