The importance of protecting the planet, preserving natural resources, reducing waste and eliminating single-use plastics has become deeply rooted in our shared awareness. As a result, companies across the globe are increasingly incorporating sustainability into their daily operations.
Offices are a key part of this shift. More organisations are recognising the value of reducing environmental impact through everyday routines and choices. While these may seem like small steps, they support employee wellbeing, promote a culture of responsibility, strengthen the company’s reputation and often result in long-term savings.
What sustainable offices look like in practice
An increasing number of workplaces are introducing policies that limit or completely phase out single-use plastics. Instead of disposable cups and bottles, employees are offered reusable glass or metal alternatives. When it comes to food delivery, biodegradable packaging is preferred. Many organisations participate in initiatives like Plastic Free July, which encourages a reduction in single-use plastics throughout the month with the aim of forming lasting habits.
Document digitisation plays an important role as well. With the rise of electronic communication, digital signatures and virtual meetings, the need for printing and physical archiving is reduced. Offices are also becoming more energy efficient by switching to LED lighting, motion sensors and energy-certified devices. Some even invest in renewable energy sources such as solar panels. Sustainable mobility is another area of focus, as companies encourage employees to use public transportation, cycle or walk to work, often with additional support or subsidies.
How we approach sustainability at Dialog
At Dialog, sustainability is not an abstract idea but part of our daily work culture. We believe meaningful change starts with consistent habits. For several years now, we have avoided single-use plastics, separated waste, printed only when necessary and used recycled paper. Our office is cleaned with eco-friendly products, and we prioritise biodegradable and durable materials, from printer toner to kitchen supplies. We drink coffee made from whole beans, use glass jars, have removed plastic water dispensers and often cook our own lunch to reduce food packaging waste.
Since January 2021, we have been officially recognised as a green office. Through our platform called THE GREEN HUB, developed in collaboration with the Ditch Plastic Croatia initiative, we provide education, consulting and ongoing support to help other companies adopt more responsible practices and make a lasting contribution to their communities and the environment.
These efforts go beyond environmental impact. They have become an essential part of our identity, recognised by both our employees and our partners. We take pride in that progress and continue to build on it every day.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming part of our digital everyday life, and one of the most fascinating phenomena is the rise of AI social media profiles — virtual influencers who communicate, entertain, and educate their audiences. We explored three popular virtual personas that demonstrate both the power and risks of AI communication.
